Low-barrier hikes
Enjoyment for all
Hiking in Upper Bavaria should be a pleasure for everyone. Not everywhere and not at every altitude, and yet as many people as possible should be able to enjoy nature and the landscape. The Upper Bavarian regions have worked very intensively on the topic of accessible and barrier-free hiking.
By "barrier-free hiking" we mean using hiking trails with a handbike or wheelchair, but also with a rollator or baby carriage. Barrier-free or low-barrier hiking trails can be found almost everywhere. However, they must have special features. The elevation profile, gradient and width of the path are particularly important. The nature of the surface, especially with regard to obstacles in the path, such as steps or roots, also plays a decisive role.
