Freising - the oldest town on the Isar

The cathedral city of Freising combines old tradition and Mediterranean flair and is so popular with visitors because of its historic old town, narrow streets and numerous sights. These include the Domberg with the Mariendom, the city's landmark, as well as the Weihenstephaner Berg with the oldest brewery in the world, the university and the Weihenstephaner Gardens.

Moosburg a. d. Isar - Tradition between the Isar and Amper rivers

The oldest town in the Freising region is picturesquely nestled between the floodplains of the Isar and Amper rivers, at the transition to the rolling hills on the southern edge of the Hallertau. Moosburg's landmarks, the towers of St. Castulus Minster and St. John's Church, can be seen from afar. A visit to the historic old town is just as worthwhile as a hiking or cycling tour in the surrounding alluvial forests.
