Hopfenland- Hallertau
In the middle of Bavaria, centrally located between the cities of Munich, Ingolstadt, Regensburg and Landshut, lies the Hallertau, the world's largest contiguous hop-growing region.
Hops have been cultivated and grown here for over 200 years. To this day, they continue to shape the landscape as well as the identity and culture of the inhabitants. World-famous, but still largely undiscovered by day-trippers and those seeking relaxation, the Hallertau is enjoying increasing popularity.

Quiet, dreamy corners, impressive views, cultural insights, sights, rustic beer gardens and many hop and beer experiences await visitors.
Here you can discover historic monasteries and churches and visit picturesque towns and villages. The German Hop Museum in Wolnzach and the Kuchlbauer Tower in Abensberg, which was built according to plans by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, are also always worth a visit. You should also not miss out on a brewery tour with beer tasting or a guided tour of a traditional hop farm, where you can learn a lot about the life and work of a hop farmer. Numerous adventure trails on very different themes await nature lovers and explorers. Narrow paths and hiking routes with information boards and adventure stations combine nature enjoyment, information and fun for all ages.
The Hallertau can also be explored by bike. The incomparable backdrop of hop gardens up to seven meters high, the hills and the many river valleys guarantee varied cycling tours for different levels of difficulty. One tip is the 170-kilometre "Hallertauer Hopfentour" - a circular cycle tour with five cross-connections and good links to the Bavarian network for cyclists. The starting point is freely selectable on this circular cycle route.
