Kuchlbauer Tower

The Kuchlbauer wheat beer brewery, which has held the brewing rights since 1300, is one of the oldest breweries in the world. Since 2010, the Kuchlbauer Tower, an architectural project based on plans by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, has attracted many thousands of visitors every year. You can also visit the KunstHausAbensberg and gain an insight into the plans, works and life of Friedensreich Hundertwasser in the exhibition.

The Schlossbrauerei Au-Hallertau is located in the heart of the Hallertau, idyllically next to Au Castle, in the market town of Au i. d. Hallertau, and can look back on over 400 years of brewing tradition. Au's beers are known and loved throughout the region and the beautiful beer garden with its old chestnut trees invites you to linger.

The Hallertau can also be explored by bike. The incomparable backdrop of hop gardens up to seven meters high, the hills and the many river valleys guarantee varied cycling tours for different levels of difficulty. One tip is the 170-kilometre "Hallertauer Hopfentour" - a circular cycle tour with five cross-connections and good links to the Bavarian network for cyclists. The starting point is freely selectable on this circular cycle route.
