The Loisach-Isar cycle tour

The town of Wolfratshausen is the starting point for this scenic multi-day cycle tour: you cycle upstream along the Loisach, around the Zugspitze and back downstream along the Isar to the rafting town. On the almost 300 km and 1800 m elevation gain, you will explore rural landscapes, pretty towns and villages, imposing mountain scenery and wild river landscapes, while always staying on easily rideable paths and roads.

Wolfratshausen

The town of Wolfratshausen, nestled between the rivers Loisach and Isar rivers, lies not far from Munich in the northern part of the Tölzer Land region. Wolfratshausen is known for the traditional craft of rafting and the passenger raft trips that still go as far as Munich-Thalkirchen even today. By bus and train, by car or via the many cycle paths the city is easy to reach. On site, a stroll through the historic old town, a walk along the Wolfratshauser with panoramic views of the foothills of the Alps or a leisurely visit to one of the many cafés and pubs.
